GC, green silicon carbide, is a very high purity SiC lapping powder.
Features
- The hexagonal α-type crystal is just below diamond in terms of hardness, and its chemical stability is excellent at room temperature. It is also used as a material for various types of polishing materials, precision grinding wheels for super-finishing and heat dissipating parts.
Applications
- GC is used for precision lapping and dicing for quartz and ferrite, wire saws for cutting Si ingots, and a wide range of other polishing materials from processing carbide metals and cutlery to soft metals such as brass and copper alloys, and resins. It is also ideal as a material for super-finishing precision grindstones.
